Why this exists

Every vendor publishes a calculator. Stripe has one. Shopify has one. OpenAI has a token estimator. They each tell you what you'll pay for their product, with their preferred assumptions, and they almost always undercount the parts that make them look expensive — dispute reserves, international card surcharges, app subscriptions, per-seat add-ons, cross-currency markups.

We started this site after spending years running a cross-border ecommerce operation in the Asia-Pacific region. We could never find a calculator that modeled the actual cost of accepting an international Amex on Stripe, or what an OpenAI batch job would cost before we ran it, or whether moving our SaaS stack to annual billing actually saved money once we accounted for churn. So we built our own spreadsheets. This site is those spreadsheets, hardened, sourced, and published.

What "cost intelligence" means here

A calculator we ship has to clear four bars:

1. Sourced.Every fee, percentage, or rate links to the vendor's own public pricing page. If we can't cite it, we don't publish it.
2. Re-checked weekly. Vendor pricing pages change silently. We re-verify every source once a week. The most recent check date is on every tool page.
3. Edge cases modeled.Currency conversion, regional interchange differences, monthly minimums, app subscription drag, dispute fees — included by default, not hidden behind "advanced mode."
4. No vendor influence. Where a calculator compares vendors, we mark our affiliate links clearly and never let them re-rank the comparison. Reputation outlasts any single signup.

Who runs this

SmartCloudSuites is a small, one-editor publication. Edited by Zaei — a cross-border ecommerce operator with experience in multi-currency Stripe accounts, dropshipping logistics, Shopify and Lightspeed POS, and AI workflow automation across the Asia-Pacific region.

The byline is intentionally lean. We use AI tooling extensively to accelerate research, scrape pricing pages, and draft article context — but every published number is human-verified against the vendor source before it ships.

How we make money

Three streams, in order of expected size:

• Display advertising. Standard programmatic ads via reputable ad networks. Ads never appear inside calculator results — only in margins and between content sections.
• Affiliate commissions. When a comparison points you to a vendor we partner with, we may earn a referral fee. These partnerships never alter the comparison ranking — see our affiliate disclosure.
• Pro subscriptions. Optional $9/month tier that removes ads, raises calculator usage limits, and unlocks AI-powered cost explanations. Launches when our free tooling is genuinely good enough to justify it.

What we'll never do

• Take payment to rerank a comparison.
• Re-publish vendor copy as "analysis."
• Stale pricing past 30 days without a refresh notice.
• Sell or rent newsletter subscribers.
• Use dark patterns to push the Pro tier.
