Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

"SmartCloudSuites," "we," "our," and "us" refers to the operator of smartcloudsuites.com. We publish calculators and articles about the cost of AI, SaaS, and cloud services. For questions about this policy, see contact.

2. The data we collect

We minimize what we collect. Specifically:

  • Calculator inputs. Most calculators run entirely in your browser. Inputs are not transmitted to our servers unless explicitly noted on the tool page.
  • Analytics.We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage (which pages people visit, how long they stay, what country they're browsing from). We do not link analytics events to a personal identity.
  • Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and subscription preferences via our email provider. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Server logs. Standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp, URL) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

3. Third-party services we use

  • Google AdSense. Serves the display advertising you see on the site. AdSense uses cookies to measure ad performance and (if you have not opted out) to personalize ads. You can manage your ad preferences via Google Ad Settings.
  • Google Analytics 4. Aggregate usage analytics. IP anonymization is enabled.
  • Vercel. Our hosting and CDN provider. They receive standard request logs as part of serving the site.

4. Cookies

We use the minimum cookies required for the site to function plus analytics and advertising cookies via Google. You can disable cookies in your browser; the calculators will continue to work, but some analytics and ad-personalization features will not.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have one or more of the following rights:

  • GDPR (EU/UK/EEA). Right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict our processing of your data. Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • CCPA / CPRA (California).Right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of "sale" or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
  • NZ Privacy Act 2020. Right to access and correct personal information we hold about you.

To exercise any of these rights, email us via the contact page. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Data retention

Server logs: 30 days. Analytics data: 14 months. Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. Calculator inputs: not retained server-side unless the calculator page explicitly says so.

7. Children

SmartCloudSuites is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated policy here with a new effective date. For substantial changes, we will also notify newsletter subscribers.
